It will not however exceed $200,000. The saving in overhead expenses, estimated at $2000 a day, which will accrue owing to the early completion of the work, will be more than com-

pensatory.

5. A final decision in the matter is subject to the approval of the Finance Committee, which is now being sought. Meanwhile, as the services of certain officers are shortly being dispensed with I should be glad to receive your approval of these proposals, if granted, by telegram.
